His link to the Lahaina Community and Maui County runs deep. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrises for seven years and is to be club President in 2014-2015. He is an active member of Lahaina Yacht Club and has served on the board for 8 years as Port Captain and Vice-Commodore.
